Scientists are continually uncovering new and wondrous insights into how plants adapt, how they function and how they enhance the quality of our lives. This lecture will explore just a few of the enchanting characteristics of plants that have inspired artists and gardeners for centuries. Susan Mintun is a horticulturist, former professor at St. Louis Community College and artist member of the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators. The Shipley School's 40th Annual Secret Gardens tour is on Wednesday May 14th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This year the carefully selected private gardens are on the Main Line - the actual locations are revealed on the day.
