Botanical Illustration Lecture: Captivating Colors
Sunday, October 12, 2 pm
Speaker: Susan Mintun
The common thread that binds gardeners and botanical artists together is a fascination with plants: how they look, how they grow, what makes each species unique. Scientists are continually uncovering new and wondrous insights into how plants adapt, how they function and how they enhance the quality of our lives. This lecture will explore just a few of the enchanting characteristics of plants that have inspired artists and gardeners for centuries.
Susan Mintun is a horticulturist, former professor at St. Louis Community College and artist member of the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators.
Exhibition, reception and lecture are all free of charge and open to the public.
