![]() I don't quite have the 17th century Dutch tulip mania, although I have to confess every fall when the bulb catalogs hit the mailbox I go slightly crazy, despite swearing every year that I will NEVER plant another tulip again. Luckily I also have clients who appreciate them, so I can indulge my planting schemes in their gardens as well as my own. Much as I hate planting in the fall, it's such fun every spring to see the colors explode in the beds - a joyous uplift after the longs winter months of ice and snow. I love to read their delicious catalog descriptions, plan colors and blooming times that clash and complement, enjoy the feel of the bulbs as I mix them in the wheelbarrows - and then curse the quantity I've ordered when the planting begins. A few of this years planting combinations.
