Another hot sultry day June shifting abruptly from cool spring to high summer. Thunderstorms are predicted this afternoon with the temperature expected to hit 96 - the first day of the summer hasn't come and we already have temps in the 90s for two days running. In the garden blooms are fading fast, the first rose and nepeta blooms already fading and in the shade the hydrangeas are wilting in the afternoon heat. At the edge of the woods the native Viburnum prunifolium bushes are about to break into bloom.
